2019 NEMOA Fall Summit Sessions to Attend

This Wednesday, Sept. 11, the 2019 NEMOA Fall Summit kicks off in Chicago, Illinois. The three-day gathering will bring together retail marketing professionals to exchange ideas, attend sessions and discuss cataloging strategies, circulation tactics, customer experience, and marketing strategy, with a heavy focus on catalog distribution and etail initiatives.

The agenda for this year's NEMOA Fall Summit is again full of great events. Members of the QuickPivot team will be attending the event, and are looking forward to attending as many of the sessions and panels as possible. The majority of this year's sessions and panels are taking place on day 2 of the event (Thursday), so anyone interested in attending should plan their schedules accordingly.

While all of the sessions will be worth attending, there were a few in particular that caught our attention. Here's a look at three NEMOA Fall Summit sessions we recommend checking out (sessions are listed in in chronological order).

#1. It's Time Your Brand Becomes More Human

Brent Niemuth, President and CCO at J. Schmid, a QuickPivot partner, will be opening Thursday's events with his session on how to take a more human approach to brand building. Niemuth calls his approach, "Humanity Marketing," which is influenced by recent neuroscience discoveries. It will offer marketers with interesting tips to help them better emotionally connect with and appeal to their customers outside of the usual methods. This session takes place Thursday, Sept. 12 from 9:00 am - 9:45 am.

#2. Leveraging Timely Research to Improve Customer Interaction

This three-speaker panel discussion will center around how marketers can use focused and actionable research to better enhance their customer interactions. Jackie Marquis, SVP of Data Sales at Epsilon, will discuss cross-generational, multi-channel marketing and what it takes to create a successful strategy. Karen Mayhew, EVP of Consumer List Management at Infogroup Media Solutions, will discuss the growing importance of personalization in today's marketing world. Rounding things out is Jesse Blount, VP of Client Marketing Strategy at Quad, who will offer up tips for engaging consumers with relevant, personalized content. He will also discuss how content creators and data teams can work together to increase marketing efficiency. This session takes place Thursday, Sept. 12 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm.

#3. Case Studies: This Worked, That Didn't

This five-speaker session features executives from Boden, Crate & Barrel, Indiro Brands, Stark Bro's Nurseries, and Trainers Warehouse discussing a variety of brand and marketing successes and challenges they've experienced in their roles. Topics like brand messaging, improving circulation operations, and managing marketing budgets will all be discussed. This session takes place Thursday, Sept. 12 from 2:30 pm - 3:15 pm.
